I have always enjoyed sketching with pen and watercolour, but with life ever busy, I rarely found time to indulge. In January '21, renowned interior portrait artist, SJ Axelby founded @roomportraitclub on Instagram, providing artists with a platform to share their interpretations of selected interiors. This presented me with the perfect opportunity to rekindle my love of painting, and I haven't stopped...

Alongside painting, I run a thriving singing teaching practice. I am a classically trained singer and having graduated from Trinity College of Music back in the ‘90’s, have performed with ensembles at major concert venues in London and the South East. From recording supermarket jingles to singing with the Royal Artillery Orchestra, I have enjoyed a varied path. I sing with Cantu Amici, an a capella vocal ensemble performing music from the renaissance to contemporary. I direct All Saints’ church choir in the rural hamlet of Highbrook. The traditional candlelit Nine Lessons and Carols is highly popular and choral evensong offers an eclectic variety of anthems and traditional psalms. I also co-direct The Sharpthorne Carol Party (now in its 99th year!), which raises funds for local charities. The carol party can be booked for private functions and soirées during the festive period.

When not singing or painting, you’ll find me in the garden. With thanks to my late father, he nurtured a deep love of gardening. My family enjoys the rewards of our potager where vegetables and sunflowers compete for attention.
